About Us
The Waterville Opera House has been Central Maine's cultural center since 1902, nurturing the spirit and imagination, strengthening our community, and stimulating our economy. It has hosted theatrical productions, ballet performances, concerts, vaudeville and comedy acts, touring shows, the Maine International Film Festival, and more, and has been the venue of choice for a wide variety of community celebrations and special events. Each year, the Opera House draws 30,000 patrons, reaches 4,000 students through its education performances, and features 250 youths in their theater camps and productions. With its recent $4.5 million renovation, the Opera House will extend its tenure as the destination for the arts in Maine for another century.
